Linking your Google Business Profile to Kerbrank

How to choose the Google Business Profile for each business in Kerbrank, so calls, direction requests and website clicks sit next to your map.

Updated 12 October 20262 min read

Your map shows where you appear. Your Business Profile shows what people did when they found you: how many called, asked for directions or clicked through to your website. With the two side by side you can see whether a better position is turning into more customers.

You choose the profile for each business yourself. Kerbrank suggests the right one, but nothing is linked until you press Save.

Before you start

  • Connect Google first. Open Account, then Google, and press Connect with Google. Sign in with the Google account that manages your Business Profile. That's often a different account from the one you use for email, so check which one Google shows you before you continue.
  • You need to own or manage the profile. Kerbrank can only see profiles that the Google account you connect can manage in Google Business Profile.

Choose the profile for each business

  1. Open Account, then Google.
  2. Press Change properties.
  3. Under Business Profile, each of your businesses has its own list. Pick the profile that belongs to it.
  4. If one profile is the same Google listing as your business, it's already picked and marked matches this business. Check it's right.
  5. Choose None for a business that shouldn't have a profile linked.
  6. Press Save.

The same window also has your websites for Search Console. Saving keeps both.

When the figures appear

The figures arrive with your next reading. That's the weekly scan, or Scan now if you have one left this month. Calls, direction requests and website clicks show week by week next to your map, so you can line them up against changes in your position.

Google reports these figures a few days behind, so the most recent days may look low at first and fill in at later readings.

What Kerbrank can and can't do

Google's permission screen says "manage", because that's the only permission Google offers for Business Profile data. Kerbrank uses it to read, and to send the posts you write:

  • It reads the list of profiles you manage, and each profile's calls, direction requests, website clicks and the searches that showed it.
  • It posts only when you say so. On Pro and above you can write an update, an event or an offer in Kerbrank. It goes to your profile when you press Publish, or at the time you scheduled, and not before.
  • It changes nothing else. It doesn't touch your details, hours, photos or reviews, and it doesn't add users.

You can unlink a business at any time by choosing None and pressing Save. To end Google access completely, press Disconnect Google under Account, or remove Kerbrank at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

If something doesn't look right

  • "This Google account doesn't manage a Business Profile." You're connected with a different Google account from the one that manages your profile. Disconnect Google and connect again with the right account.
  • "Business Profile didn't answer just then." Google didn't reply in time. Close the window and press Change properties again a minute later.
  • The wrong profile is suggested, or none is. We only suggest a profile when it's exactly the same Google listing as your business. Pick the right one yourself and press Save.
  • Several businesses, one profile. Each profile should belong to one business. If two of your businesses share a profile, link it to the one at that address.
